On October the 15th, 2012, the delegation from the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Russian Federation visited Samara State University.
Minister-counselor on energy issues, Hoglys Martinez, and the Embassy spokesman, Ruben Dario, held a meeting with the Samara State University students.
Mr. Martinez gave a lecture “Social missions and people’s power of Venezuela”. During his lecture Mr. Martinez presented main attainments of Hugo Chavez governance. The president of Venezuela holds the policy of strengthening governmental control on the economy, in accordance with which the key sectors of the economy were nationalized. Venezuela is one of the main oil suppliers in the world. High prices on oil let the government finance the systems of education and medical care and other social projects. Diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela were established more than 150 years ago. Now two countries are actively developing cooperation in economic and trade spheres.
The prospects of boosting cooperation in education and culture were discussed on the meeting between the Embassy delegation and the Samara State University administration. The representatives of the Embassy expressed their eagerness to prepare specialists in international law, physics, chemistry and other top degrees in Samara State University. Besides, the parties stressed the importance of the developing intercultural dialogue and cooperation on the level of youth and students’ organizations.
