The faculty of Psychology was established in 1998, although the educational programme in Psychology was introduced in 1989.
Our academic staff consists of seven doctor and twenty three candidates of sciences including leading scientists and specialists from Moscow and
St. Petersburg.
Three principles of our teaching staff are professionalism, precision and democratism.

The faculty offers high quality education in significant social fields of contemporary science. Thus, social psychologists work with organizations, groups, teams and collectives (in sport, management, industry, etc.) Psychological counselors focus their professional competency on individual characteristics and human problems; enable people to find decisions in complicated life situations; teach them to overcome frustration, fears, phobias and stress; and help to give up negative addictions. In the field of Organizational Psychology and Management Psychology, a human being is considered as a subject of management and self-management. This covers Psychology of Advertising, Business Psychology, Psychology of Negotiation Process, Coaching, and Economic Psychology.
The degree programme “Psychological and Pedagogical Education” meets important social demands and trains highly qualified specialists for social work in families, institutions of general and additional education, pre-school preventive establishments, centres of children’s leisure and art, etc. The Social Pedagogy programme emphasizes on studying pedagogical and psychological disciplines, legal foundations of maternity and childhood protection, youth rights, life safety and protection of labour.
As a result our graduates have the opportunity to study and conduct research in a stimulating and highly rewarding environment where profound theoretical instruction is combined with in-depth practical training in a huge variety of organizations and establishments of social, business, medical, and educational fields.
Postgraduate study is implemented within the majors:
