Samara State University has three campuses: the main campus in Samara, and the campuses in minor cities of Samara Region - Togliatti and Pokhvistnevo.
The main campus in Samara consists of four academic buildings. The main building (1, Akademika Pavlova st.) houses: university administration, library, 7 faculties: Mechanics and Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Sociology, Psychology, laboratories, Internet access rooms.
The Law Faculty and the Faculty of Economics and Management are situated in new detached buildings near the main one.
The building on 74/173, Potapova st. houses the Faculty of Philology. The biggest library, the assembly hall and the gym are located in the same building.
There are two dormitories in 5 minutes walk from the main university building.
Besides, a new gym with a swimming pool has been constructed recently.
The special pride of SSU is the Botanic Garden with a unique collection of plants from different parts of the world. The collection consists of more than 3 thousand types and varieties including 1.5 thousand of rare and protected plants. Botanic garden isn’t only an open air museum of nature but also a laboratory for the students' practical and research work.
Samara State University is an important Internet-provider in the region. Internet network includes over 1500 computers in 30 computer rooms and 30 servers.
How to get Samara and SSU
Samara is a major transport hub with good railway links, river port and Kurumoch International Airport. The airport has an extensive route network to practically all the regions of the Russian Federation as well as neighbouring and distant countries. There is a newly-constructed and modern railway station in the very center of Samara. Railway lines go from Samara in all directions (with direct trains to Moscow and other cities). http://eng.rzd.ru

It takes 20-30 minutes to get to Samara State University campus from the railway station. You can take bus # 50, 206 to the stop “Gosuniversitet”.
The best way to get to Samara State University campus from the airport is by taxi as it is available 24/7 unlike the bus. The standard rate for a taxi to the airport is 800R ($27), and 1000R ($33) from the airport to the city.
It’s possible to get to Samara by bus # 392 (from 7 a.m. to 21 p.m.) and bus #78 (from 7 a.m. to 20.25 p.m.) from Bereza village which is close to the airport.
