On 25th – 26th of March the Department of Foreign Languages with a help of Samara Regional Public Organization of English Language Teachers and Publishing House of Cambridge University successfully held an international scientific conference «English Language Professional Development Scaling New Heights» at Samara State University. More than 500 people from 15 cities of the Volga region, republic Bashkortostan participated in the conference. Besides, the outstanding experts in the field of English language teaching both from Russia and abroad shared their experience, particularly, Dr. E. N. Solovova, Dr. Michael Tomlinson, Dr. Andy Noonan, Dr. V.V. Levchenko, Dr. E.G. Kashina, S.A. Suchkova.
The main aim of the conference was to highlight different aspects of professional competence development among school and university teachers in the context of changes in modern educational paradigm. The participants of the conference were delighted with the workshops leaded by the invited experts: Dr. Andy Noonan devoted his workshop to the topic: «Autonomy tools for the modern student», Dr. Michael Tomlinson emphasized different aspects of young learners’ examination during his workshop «Star Kids: how to do well in young learners exams».
All participants expressed their gratitude to Samara State University for such a great opportunity to share their experience with the experts from different regions of Russia, the USA and Great Britain.
